Putting the Season to bed

I love this time of year, when the harvest season is over and the earth is going to sleep. It’s a thoughtful time, it makes me think of church bazaars and book fairs at school, apple cider pressing and woodsmoke in the air. (That reminds me, I have to go out to the orchard! They make slushes with pure apple cider. SO freaking good!!) The sky seems more deep blue against all the gorgeous foliage, and we have more visitors to our area than any other time of year. This is the time of year that I moved here to the Great Smokies, so maybe that is why I associate it with changes and coming home as well.

Last night in our free chatroom, I realized that I felt at home. Coming into Ms Heather’s regular Friday Flashback radio show in the cockradio room, I was greeted on all sides by chatters and fellow mistresses. By people that I consider friends. Sissies, strokers, wereshrimps, it was so much fun! This is our community and it is very real. The chatrooms, the radio shows, creative ladies like Ms Heather, and Ms Vivian with her Wednesday Humpday show, and Ms Elizabeth with her League of Pain fantasy football, they’ve all come together to create something very special. Our very own teeny tiny Cheers. I like coming in and having lots of people welcome me. I like being able to welcome new chatters and our newer ladies into the fun that we have, I want them to hang out and become part of the jokes and teasing and friendly flirting that goes on. It’s my way of giving back, I guess, for the sense of community I’ve found. Thanks for being part of it, you all:)
